Request

A request is a recorded ask for help, service, approval, information, maintenance, or another action.

A request creates a clear starting point. It tells the organization what is needed, who submitted it, and what should happen next. The request can then be assigned, tracked, updated, or turned into other work.

What Information Can a Request Hold?

  • Who submitted the request.
  • What the person needs.
  • The location, booking, asset, account, or other record involved.
  • Priority or urgency when needed.
  • Who is responsible for the next step.
  • Current status and update history.

Is a Request the Same as a Task or Work Order?

No. A request describes what someone needs. A task is a piece of work assigned to a person. A work order is usually a more structured record for carrying out service or maintenance work.

One request can create one task, several tasks, a work order, an approval, or another workflow depending on the process.

How Does Booking Ninjas Manage Requests?

Booking Ninjas' Request Management tools can capture internal or external requests, assign ownership, track status, apply priorities, and trigger notifications or escalations.

Requests can also come through a Self-Service Portal when the organization wants customers, members, tenants, guests, or other users to submit and track their own requests.
