Availability means whether a room, space, service, unit, or other resource can still be booked for a requested time.
A resource can exist but still be unavailable because it is already booked, blocked, outside operating hours, at capacity, under maintenance, or restricted by another rule.
What Can Affect Availability?
- Existing bookings or reservations.
- Operating hours and booking windows.
- Capacity limits.
- Blackout dates or blocked time.
- Maintenance or another operational status.
- Booking rules for the customer, resource, or service.
How Is Availability Different From Capacity?
Capacity is how much can be supported. Availability is how much of that capacity can still be booked under the current conditions.
A class may have capacity for 20 people. If 15 places are already taken and no other rule blocks booking, five places are still available.
